This annual event was encouraged by GM Richard Bustillo to tournament director Joe Parker
in 2008. The first event was held July 19, 2009 with SGM "Cacoy" Canete in attendance. With
continued support from both Grandmaster's and others, The Battle at the Shore has grown to
include Brazilian Jiu-jitsu, No-Gi Grappling, Forms, Point Fighting, Kickboxing,
Knife Fighting and Stick Fighting.
